Winter is a time to build fitness, strength and skills that form the foundation of a great spring and summer season. Stay in contact with all your summer team mates as you strengthen, body, mind and friendships.
See the winter training plan below for each age group. Remember, since this is preparation for the 2021 season, use the age on January 1, 2021.

U12's - Paddlers 11 years old or younger on January 1st of 2021 are invited to join the older paddlers and keep summer friendships strong with our once a week Sunday evening Swims.
U14's - Paddlers 12 or 13 on January 1st of 2021 are ready to learn the basics of training and enter the athletic pathway with 4 sessions a week. Paddlers will build fitness and be introduced to general conditioning exercise routines and methods.
U16's - Typically the U16 age group is developing fast and it is important to take advantage of the opportunity to maximize fitness and strength development. It is this period boys and girls start to look like young men and women. U16 is the age where paddlers enter National Championship competition and may even qualify for international teams. Winter training will have them ready.
U18's and older athletes looking to be competitive and to continue to surpass previous limits and performances are normally well training in what it takes to maximize their athletic potential. This is the stage where ability starts to shine and we see U18 paddlers prepare for early season National Team selections. U18's continue to take part in National Championships and test themselves against the best in Canada. No matter if a paddler is training for the love of the sport or trying to make the Canada Games or to put on the Team Canada shirt, winter training is a key element of the sport.
