There is no better place to spend the summer than on the water!
Join the Calgary Canoe Club and have a blast with our expert instructors and friendly paddlers. Explore the many competitive, recreational and social aspects of our youth paddling program.
- Learn to Paddle is SOLD OUT. Try our friends for their youth summer programs, click here.
- New Paddlers now can join the 'Sprint Intro' sessions.
Safety requirement: Swimming ability of Aquaquest 6 or similar.
|Age 9-12 (Learn to Paddle)||Age 10+ (Sprint Racing Intro)|
New Paddlers are introduced to the sport with the Learn 2 Paddle (L2P) camps, starting each 2 weeks in the summer months. Paddlers will learn all the basics of canoes & kayaks with a brief introduction to sprint racing boats. Paddlers 9-12 can take multiple L2P camps. Do note that paddlers will be repeating the same 2 week program as before, hence we recommend joining the sprint program to further develop skills in the Olympic Sprint Racing Boats.
New Paddlers can join directly into the the Sprint Intro and master the Olympic racing canoes and kayaks (one of Canada's top performing Olympic sports). Paddlers are grouped with others of similar age and ability.
New paddlers can join the Sprint Intro for 2 weeks or select longer periods. If you want to continue with the program, the team does train year round preparing for each season. June 28, 2021 is the first start date.
"The CCC creates a welcoming and positive environment that allows youth to develop a love for the sport."

"U14 Paddler's testimonial - I am lucky to have found this sport during COVID. The coaches are friendly and experienced. They motivate everyone to work hard and improve each week. I look forward to all the practices even the hard ones."
"Parent's testimonial - We are impressed with how supportive and dedicated the paddlers and coaches are within this program. The organization has been able to continuously adapt in the past year and maintain a safe and high quality training program for the paddlers. We receive regular training and program updates which allows us to feel connected and involved in supporting our child. "
"My children discovered the activities at CCC as a result of bring a friend day, then were registered for the next 2 years for learn to paddle summer camps. Later they joined the sprint program and have been with the CCC for the past 5-6 years. CCC continues to provide them with a progressive, exciting active program and regular challenges. They enjoy learning, perfecting their sport and setting goals every week. They also welcome and enjoy the possibility/opportunity to train with the club during the off season. There are many cross training opportunities too which help improve their performance. They have made many friends and memories over the years and always look forward to traveling with the team to competitions. I definitely recommend the CCC to local families who enjoy the outdoor lifestyle."
