Youth Paddle and Row Camp

Description

For the first time, The Calgary Rowing Club and the Calgary Canoe Club have joined forces to provide this unique camp opportunity for Calgary Youth aged 10-15 years.

The ROWING portion of the Paddle & Row Camp will take place at the Calgary Rowing Club located in North Glenmore Park in the mornings. Participants will learn water safety, indoor rowing, tank rowing and finally on-water rowing. By the end of the week, the participants will be zipping around the reservoir and competing in the Summer Splash Regatta, racing 200m in different boat classes. Check out calgaryrowingclub.com for more information on these disciplines or email: office@calgaryrowing.com

The PADDLE portion of the Paddle / Row camp takes place at the Calgary Canoe Club, located at the same facility as the Rowing Club, in the afternoons. Participants will have an opportunity to try out all of the paddling disciplines each afternoon. This includes recreation kayaks, canoes, dragon boat and an intro to sprint racing canoes and kayaks. We provide all required equipment, including PFD’s.
