2018 Dam Upgrade: Reservoir water levels will be impacted.

The Calgary Canoe Club will operate as usual in 2018. In order for the City to complete repairs to the dam, the water levels will be kept very low throughout the season. Low water levels will limit the area we can paddle on the reservoir. There will be no access to the Weaselhead flats area, including the channel that runs along the shoreline. All members and daily rentals must comply with new restricted area guidelines. We will review these with members and daily rentals upon registration. The Canoe Club will be closed to members and rentals for two events in 2018:

  • July 6th – Calgary Rowing Club Regatta.
  • August 11-12th – Calgary Dragon Boat Festival.

Otherwise, the Club will remain open during regular business hours as in the past and as per usual based on weather, spring run off and hopefully no other unforeseen issues with the dam project.

For current information on the project please see the City of Calgary’s Glenmore Dam Infrastructure Improvement page
