Group & School Lessons
Do you have a group looking for basics in canoeing, kayaking or dragon boating? We offer a variety of lessons, cost depending on group size and time:
- Lesson duration: Lessons run from 1-2 hrs and include equipment
- Cost: Will vary based on group size. Email for a quote.
- What you will Learn: the basics of the boat/paddle, getting in and out, games and activities to learn how to paddle forward/backward/turning, safety on and off the water and how to control the boat.
- Equipment fleet includes: 25 kayaks, 20 tandem canoes, and 3 dragon boats (which hold 20 paddlers each).
- Instructor participant ratio: 1: 8 for kayaking, 1: 10 for canoeing, and 2:20 for dragon boating.
- Team building sessions: in dragon boats, perfect for events like school graduations or just general competitive fun with your students.
Times available for Spring and Fall:
Monday- Friday 9 am – 4pm
May 5 - June 27 , September 8 - October 24.
Sorry, we are unable to offer lessons weekday evenings and weekends.
Summer July - August: Group bookings are limited due to the Club day camps and sprint canoe/kayak training. Please contact us and we will check if we can offer a group booking (weekdays Mon-Fri).
Corporate Team Building Session
Do you have a corporate group that wants to experience some fun team building or just wants a day out of the office to explore the Reservoir?
We offer sessions for dragon boating team building geared towards your goals.
What you will learn: Participants work together on paddling as a cohesive team through technique drills and fun races in a dragon boat.
We also offer canoeing if preferred. We offer an instructor led lesson then you are free to explore the reservoir on your own in our tandem canoes.
Availability and cost depends on the length of session and group size. Dragon boats accommodate up to 20 paddlers per boat. The minimum group size for dragon boat is 14, the maximum is 60 (3 boats). Having at least 2 dragon boats makes it a little more fun
for racing.
Time: Monday- Friday 9 am – 4pm, May to mid-October. Sorry, we do not offer evening or weekend slots.
Hall rental: We also have a hall that you may rent to use before and after your session. If you prefer to book a lesson and hall contact us for hall availability to match up with lesson.
