Olympic Style Racing canoes and kayaks.
Certified coaches develop the fitness and technical skills of paddlers to propel Calgary single, double, four and 15 person boats to the podium in local, national and international events.

Although we are a racing team, we understand that not all paddlers dream to stand on the Olympic Podium, the program is designed to provide the foundation for long-term athlete development and life-long love of sport. If you want to have fun in the fast boats, we provide a Safe and Fun experience to enjoy with friends.

Who can join the Sprint Team?
Paddlers who have completed a 2 week L2P session or previously been in the Sprint Program. New paddlers age 13+ can join the Sprint Team directly with a 2 week Sprint Intro session.

Club Membership is required to participate in Sprint Paddling Programs that are longer than two weeks. There are individual and family memberships available.

Returning Paddlers in the U14 age groups have sessions from 9-4:30pm in July and August with 4:30-5:30 sessions in the spring and fall (see start dates and more info below once confirmed). Winter cross training continues for those that want to continue with friends to prepare for the next season.

New paddlers 14+ (age on January 1st) typically prefer not to be at the Club for the whole day (9-4:30 pm). For these older paddlers, Kayak sessions are Monday-Friday, 9:00-10:45, and Canoe sessions are 3:00-4:30. If paddlers choose to participate in the whole day, War Canoe is 10:45-12:30 and Physical Conditioning 1:30-3:00. At the end of the Sprint Intro, paddlers will be comfortable in the boats and ready to join our experienced team earlier in the morning and in the evenings.

Older, experienced paddlers generally train twice a day in the summer season in the morning or early evening. Spring and Fall sessions continue to be offered before and/or after school hours.

The Team attends local, provincial and national regattas! Paddlers will get the specific information at least two weeks prior to the event (cost, travel logistics etc). It is very important that paddlers notify their coach if they are unable to attend as team boats require a team commitment.
