CCC's COVID Vaccination Policy
Calgary Canoe Club’s COVID Vaccination Policy
Competitive Programs and Camps (as of January 2022, may be updated)
In order to participate in a Calgary Canoe Club program (Outrigger, Sprint canoe/kayak, Intro to sprint, and Learn to Paddle) participants, 9 years and older (as of January 1, 2022) must be fully vaccinated (at least 14 days from the second dose of a 2-dose vaccine or a single dose of Janssen).
Medical exemptions and proof of negative COVID tests are not accepted.
Rationale and Additional Information:
The Glenmore Canoe & Rowing Clubhouse is a city-owned facility. We follow the Restrictions Exemption Program and require proof of vaccination for all participants using our facility (with the exception of the counter service). Crew boats are also a large component of our programs and camps which do not allow for physical distancing.
The Calgary Canoe Club supports the COVID-19 vaccine and highly encourages members and participants to be fully vaccinated. We are committed to doing our best to protect our fully vaccinated staff and offering safe programs that meet or exceed the Government of Alberta guidelines.
Recreation Memberships & Canoe Rentals
Recreation members booking canoes or kayaks are not required to show proof of vaccination. They must continue to book via our app and follow all other AHS guidelines such as wearing a mask when checking in at the boat bay and following physical distancing protocols as directed by the Club.
Members of the public renting a canoe are not required to provide proof of vaccination.
The renter(s) must wear a mask inside the boat bays and follow distancing protocols. Renters will line up outside so there is one renter inside at a time. All must follow ‘counter service’ protocol as directed.
All participants and staff are to review the health screening questionnaire on a daily basis and will remain home should they answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions;
