Event information and competition registration can be found at the CKC EVENT PAGE LINK: https://canoekayak.ca/event/national-team-trials-2-2/

Why - The NTT is used to select and rank Canadian athletes for U16 U18 U23 and Senior teams. Some athletes will attend with the goal of making a team and representing Canada, many others will attend for the opportunity to practice racing at a high level and against a deep pool of athletes. This will be the largest gathering of athletes from across Canada until the National Champs in late August.

Competition Site - https://www.parcjeandrapeau.com/en/olympic-basin-montreal/

Accommodation - CCC has set aside 10 Two-Bedroom Suites for the team in Montreal at Campus1 MTL Student Residence. Rooms are available for checkin June 10th (4pm) and Checkout June 15th (10am).

Boats - Boat will Depart Calgary Sunday June 7th and arrive in Montreal Wednesday June 10th. We expect to have the trailer and boats parked for athletes to train Wednesday afternoon at the Olympic Basin.

Transportation - Athletes are responsible for organizing their own transportation to Montreal. Travel to and from the airport to the hotel is easy to. organize by cab or uber. It is recommended for athletes to organize travel in groups to share the cost and support each other. Coaches may be on-site to meet at airport but may as well be tied up at the venue site, so plan for independence. Between the hotel and the event site - The metro is the best option for easy and fast commuiting.

Cost - CCC is working on the event budget. The cost to the athletes can be separated into two components:

  1. Everyone will share the cost to have the boats and coaches in Montreal.
  2. The individual cost: Athlete Transport, Accommodation, Meals, Entry Fee.
