Position: Full-Time Sprint Canoe-Kayak Coach
Overview:
Calgary Canoe Club is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the role of Sprint Canoe Coach for the upcoming season. This is a full-time position from May to August, primarily focusing on coaching athletes in the under 14 (U14) age class. In addition to the sprint coach role, tasks may be assigned for May and June (recreational or school groups). Pending performance and availability, the position could be extended to include part-time coaching opportunities in the Off-Season. This could present an excellent option for a student seeking ongoing coaching experience and involvement with the club beyond the summer months.
Qualifications:
- NCCP Entry Level Canoe Kayak Coach certification (Comp-Intro).
- Previous coaching experience in sprint canoeing or related water sports.
- Skills coaching war canoe will be looked on favourably.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic CPR and First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of a police background check.
- Skills coaching war canoe will be looked on favourably.
Compensation:
Pay will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
