New for 2026: Volunteer Fee

Sprint Membership Fundraising & Volunteer Fee (FVF)


Full time Sprint members will be charged an ‘Fundraising & Volunteer fee’ in addition to their Club membership and sprint program fee. This is a per family fee.


The purpose of the fee is threefold:
1. Enhance membership engagement through increased social, volunteer and fundraising
events, allowing both the Club program and athletes to raise funds
2. Decrease the athlete annual costs with your fundraising contribution to offset sprint travel
costs and contribute to the Club’s operating budget for new equipment,
3. Increase the sprint program’s operational capabilities


The fee will be split 50/50.


50% of the fee is credited to the family and can be earned back through volunteering activity credits. These credits translate back to Funds and will be credited to the athlete account, which may be used for fees and regatta costs as per the current model.
The remaining 50% will go towards sprint fundraising. The funds will be split as follows:
50% to sprint travel costs, 40% to equipment, 10% to support international athlete events. Keep in mind, these funds go back to the program to benefit you. We will be able to lower the cost of away regatta’s and we will be able to purchase new equipment which will benefit all of our athletes to use.
We will be transparent showing all funds raised and where these funds are allocated. We will show the regular costs of the regatta vs the lower costs with your fundraising fees help support this cost. This chart will be posted on the page dedicated to this program fee.


The Enhancement fee program will run May 1 – April 30 annually to allow for 12 months to engage in volunteer activities. Three payouts will be made to athlete accounts (June 1, August 1 and April 1). A full list of all events will be posted as they are determined.
Volunteer credits will be tracked by the Engagement Committee. The coordinators currently include Jennifer St. George, Heather Rasku and Diana Ndegwa. Thank you very much for your initiative to drive this program forward to benefit both the athletes and the sprint program. The Committee is still in the process of recruiting a marketing and PR coordinator in addition to a Regatta Coordinator.
