Calgary Regatta 2024 (July 20)

 Edited: Jan 26, 2024

Who is this for?

Athletes Under 14 or any new paddlers in our 2 camps. It will be a great experience for the younger athletes and we are hoping all older athletes will be mentoring/coaching/officiating.

We hope everyone will come out and enjoy a day by the water! There will be a concession, and for lunch, you can either pack a lunch, or there will be a Burger BBQ for $5 (TBD)

SNACKS

A concession will be provided on Saturday with snacks, cold items and beverages. Any type of payment. Profit from the concession will go towards making this event fee and if anything is left over it will go towards the athletes heading to Nationals.

CLOTHING

Please wear layers and be prepared for the weather. Wear sunscreen, hat, & sunglasses.

DRINKING WATER

There will be water available on site for all participants free of charge in a large dispenser. Please remember to bring your own water bottle if you wish to use this complimentary water. Otherwise, bottled water will be for sale at the concession stand.

PARKING

Be aware that Parking will be jammed. Please park in the 'Park' at Parking Lot A or B, Lakeview Village (exit onto Linden Dr, please be respectful within this community, takes 6 min to walk from here to CCC), park on 66 AVE and walk in (12 min).

VIEWING

Bring chairs to watch and umbrellas, it may be HOT!! You can watch from the Club decks, shoreline or bike path over looking the course. Please leave pavement above the dock area clear for officials/volunteers/athletes.

PARENTS

To provide an opportunity to meet other parents, and get to know the club better, we are planning a Potluck lunch for parents in the hall.  We would love it if you would bring a dish that could feed 6-8 others.  (Remember to label the underside of the dish so you can take it home!).

As always, we are hoping for parent volunteers to assist with running the event, either as officials or in any way to lend a hand.  It is a great way to watch your athlete and learn more about the sport.  We have lots of roles that require no experience, and we will tell you everything you will need to know!

What better way to see your athlete on the water then to help out as well.

Please volunteer HERE.

OLDER ATHLETES

We want you there! To help mentor, coach, officiate, volunteer, etc. We are looking into options for lunch for you. BBQ Burger lunch, Cost is $5.

Please volunteer HERE.

CLEAN UP

Please be aware that we may finish at 4:30pm (or even earlier depending on your U14 races) and we need help cleaning up. Please pack out what you came with. We have a Leave no trace policy. We ask everyone to stay for the last 30 min (if that) to help clean up at the end of the day. Many hands make light work!
