Weather

CCC coaches often adjust activities to respond to weather conditions. As always, we encourage you to contact your coach if uncertain.

Spring

Weather in the Spring can be unpredictable. If the temperature is 5 degrees, or below, and wet (rain, sleet, snow) there will be no practice (on water or dryland). If uncertain, please contact your coach. Cancellations may occur due to cold, electrical storms etc., we watch the weather and strive to give 24hrs notice.

Summer

Extreme weather may force paddlers off the water. Therefore, in the case of cold, high winds or electrical storms we will cancel the program for the day. Staff will be watching the weather and where possible provide 24 hours notice. For short-term weather issues, activities will move on-land or inside the clubhouse.

Fall

Weather in the Fall can be unpredictable. If the temperature is 5 degrees, or below, and wet (rain, sleet, snow) there will be no practice (on water or dryland). If uncertain, please contact your coach. Cancellations may occur due to cold, electrical storms etc., we watch the weather and strive to give 24hrs notice.

Winter

If extreme temperatures unfold CCC athletes with scheduled training will be inside the Canoe Club. Athletes who have access to facilities with indoor running tracks may complete their scheduled workouts there. If you have access to indoor rowing or biking facilities, we encourage you to use these options. For those who brave the cold, additional coaching will be on-site at the Canoe Club to supervise an indoor endurance circuit. We understand and support those who decide it's best not to venture out into the cold today. If you do go out, dress warmly and cover your skin!
