U18 & older Sprint Program
The U18 and Senior age programs are for canoeists and kayakers preparing for competition at the regional, national and international level.
Training loads will vary between 8-13 practices/week depending on the coach’s periodized yearly training plan and its compliance
with Canoe Kayak Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development philosophies.
*Practice times are subject to the coaching staff’s weekly training plans.Coaches utilize the Training Peaks application to communicate training and monitor loads.
To meet the physical needs of the athlete, activities may consist of on-water and on-land activities
and vary by seasonal stage such as: paddle, swimming, running, strength training, and yoga.
Athletes at this stage often customize training routines with some self-directed sessions to balance academic/work schedules.
