Year-round Sprint Programs for paddlers aged 9–14 in racing canoes and kayaks. One of our most popular programs, following the Long Term Athletic Development Model.

A Club membership is required for sprint programs of 4+ weeks.
Requirements - Under 12 or Under 14 as of Jan. 1, 2026 (ages 9–13) & prior paddling experience, e.g. our Learn 2 Paddle program.
Coaching & Safety - All coaches are NCCP, Standard First Aid & CPR certified, Safe Sport trained, hold Pleasure Craft Operator cards, and pass current Criminal Records checks.
U12 & U14 Fall Training
Fall programs for U14 paddlers run from the beginning of September to the end of October. After school and weekend work-outs are a great way to improve paddling technique, strength, and fitness. New paddlers are welcome, in addition to paddlers that have participated in any of our summer programs. Welcome Letter for Fall is HERE, was emailed to all who registered by August 20.

Sprint training programs for U14 paddlers begin in May and run through June. After school and weekend work-outs are a great way to improve paddling technique, strength, and fitness. This is a great time of year to start paddling again if your child has been in the program before.
Many new paddlers start in the spring before participating in the U14 Sprint Summer Program (info further down page).

June 28 - August 20 (Monday-Fridays 9am-4pm)
Athletes are organized by age and gender, and participate in activities scheduled throughout the week: sprint canoeing, sprint kayaking, war canoe, and dryland games. They will also paddle in recreational canoes & kayaks, dragon boats, voyageur canoes, and outrigger canoes. In addition to water safety rules and the basics of body weight strength training, we will cover off the fundamentals of balance, technique, and paddling efficiency. There may be opportunities to race, and racing skills will be incorporated as part of the
practices.

- Opportunities to race at away regattas through the season
- Membership fee will be applied to those registering for the extra weeks over the 2 week L2P.
